Soujin: [to Val, a Coworker] And, well, she told me I was dirty because I didn't wash my hair three times a day.
Customer: YOU ARE DIRTY.
Soujin: Ahhhhgh.
Customer: You're FILTHY. I wash my hair three times a day at least! *lifts hat, displaying the fact that he is--completely bald*
Soujin: I don't know if that recommends it, sir.
Customer: It makes it easier to brush.
Soujin: Nevertheless, sir.
Customer: Well, it wasn't just the washing. It was the having children.
Soujin: That explains my daddy.
Customer: It really does. Also my head is incredibly clean.
Soujin: I bet it is, sir.

---

Soujin: So that's two packs of Marlboro reds and two of Marlboro mediums, ma'am?
Customer: That's right.
Customer's Daughter: Mommy?
Customer: Yes, hon?
CD: How come they sell cigarettes and stuff if it gives you cancer?
Customer: ;____;
Soujin: ;_____;
CD: *expectant look*
Soujin: Well, um, it's for the money, really.
Customer: It really is. It's because they want the money, baby.
CD: Oh.
Customer: And Mommy's addicted. But you won't ever be. Come on, let's go.
Soujin: ... ;________________________;

---

Soujin: Your total is 2.95, sir.
Customer: *hands over card*
Soujin: Credit or debit?
Customer: Debit.
Soujin: *swipes card*
Soujin's Register: HA HA YEAH RIGHT.
Soujin: ... *swipes card again*
Soujin's Register: :P :P :P :P
Soujin: I'm really sorry, sir, it's not taking it as debit. Can I try it as credit?
Customer: Try that.
Soujin: *swipes card*
Soujin's Register: *gives Soujin the finger*
Soujin: I'm sorry, this really isn't working, for some reason. Do you have another method of payment?
Customer: You're FUCKING INCOMPETENT. *walks out*
Soujin: ...
Soujin's Register: *dances gleefully*
Soujin: ;__________;

Ah yes, it must be because Soujin Is Dumb, and not because technology is evil*. That's proper Mars Logic.

On the other hand, hair-washing guy sounds cute.

* Let alone because the customer has just been Christmas shopping liek woah and has cleaned out his account. Not that, uh. That happened to anybody last night or anything. *whistles*

Did he REALLY SAY THAT TO YOU? Jeez, that's ridiculous and awful. And I thought people were rude where I worked. I bet he was using one of those fake credit cards that credit card companies send you in the mail to advertise, and was upset and frustrated because his clever clever plan didn't work.

He diiiiiid. But I get it a lot, actually. My theory is that bad roads + Christmas season + the fact that people are usually coming to buy food or cigarettes, so they need their fix + the fact that they have to wait in line = v.v.v.v. short tempers, and the register monkey is a faceless unconnected person it feels okay to take things out on. >_> I try not to mind too much.

I almost always pay cash for everything. XD (And at my store, I get more people paying in cash for $200-500 purchases than with a card for few-dollar purchases.)

I have no cash ever, so I usually have to use my card for everything.

I really don't mind. I used to be all 'wtf' but now it's just normal. And it's really no trouble or extra work for me, unless the register decides to reject it, which happens usually v. occasionally.
