I feel the need to clarify, a little? I'd say I'm like a...0.5 on the Kinsey scale, sexually, but I feel like the line between deep friendship and platonic romance is... smudgey for me. Then again, labeling particular relationships is something I don't do that often until lovely people like you ask tricky questions.
I think there are a lot more gender options than "male/female/not sure" (an "other" fill-in-the-box would probably be best). There are definitely people who identify as something other than male or female and are sure about it.
Actually, the way you phrased the question, I could see people answering that they'd be comfortable poly without actually having tried it (I thought I would be long before I tried it, and I mostly am, but we've had some really rough patches).
I also know quite a few poly folks, my boyfriend included, who would not be comfy with an exclusive relationship (we've done it for periods while working on stuff, but long-term, it's not a possibility for him. I'm not sure it is for me, either). So they're out there.
The romantic question is tricky for me, because I am biromantic but emotionally I pretty much prefer women. I think that under other circumstances (e.g. if my current primary relationship didn't work out) I'd try much harder to seek out romantic relationships with women.
I have been meaning to make a poll like this for SO LONG, oh man. Way to beat me to it. :P
Also, I identify as bisexualandromantic/pansexualandromantic (I don't like to use either exclusively, so I'LL JUST GO WITH BOTH, YAY), but I also checked "lesbian" and "heteroromantic" because I feel like I lean very slightly homosexual and heteroromantic. Even though both overarching categories are more or less balanced out. THE MORE YOU KNOW~
It also occurs to me that there are going to be definition differences--I don't identify as pansexual because I just find the word a bit silly, but I'm not bisexual in the sense that I'm only attracted to people who identify as male or female. Other people might use "bisexual" in a more limited way.
