Okay, so. Galahad (my darling laptop) is definitely starting to slow down. Stuff freezes a lot, and I'm just having generally a more difficult time getting things to work correctly. Which, you know, he's four years old, I accept that.

But I've decided that before he attains the Holy Grail and returns to God, I'd really like to do something to save his bookmarks (of which I've collected a vast number over the years). So I joined Delicious.

But it won't let me install the buttons? Says it's not compatible with Firefox 4.0. In which case I'm not really sure how to make it work. I know some of y'all use Delicious, so I was wondering whether anyone else has had this problem and/or knows a way around it. I've been messing around with the site, but I'm not sure how to get anything bookmarked if I don't have the buttons installed.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me with this. >_>

In other news, Hank bit [livejournal.com profile] the_chloroplast this morning. I'm pretty upset, given that my hermits are usually incredibly well-mannered. I have no idea what got into him. Just last night I was lying awake in the dark listening to them click against things with their shells and thinking how sweet they are. D: Behave, crabs! Or I will not steal chickpeas from Baker for you!

I have thing called Registry Booster which has saved me a lot of woe - may be worth trying on yr slowing lippy-tappy-too-tah.

I use something called firefox sync. I used to use Xmarks, but that went down, so I had to swap to this instead. You're using an older version of firefox though, so I'm not sure if it would work or not.

I do plan on getting my mail at some point, I promise.

Really? 4.0 is out of date now? Pfffff. I'll take a look at firefox sync, though. I really want to get things saved before my baby dies.

No hurry. XD

I wish I had awesome suggestions, but I not only have never used Delicious, but am one of the last holdouts for Internet Explorer. *ducks* Because Firefox crashes my computer WTH?

Okay, on Wentworth I'm almost fully switched to Google Chrome, but Victoria will probably die if I try to upgrade her at this point, and they're both nearing last legs. I'm just praying they can both last until December, because then I'll graduate and it won't be such an issue.

I'm going to pretend I never heard that comment about IE. Because I love you.

I moved away from Delicious a little while ago, so I'm not super-clear on how best to go about things. (I am currently IN LOVE with Pinboard, but there is a one-time-signup fee there, so. Yeah.) But you can export your firefox boookmarks to an HTML file, which may be importable elsewhere & even if not importable at least preserves your bookmarks.

Ooh, thank you. Yeah, I've heard that Delicious is falling out of favour generally.
