Third planting of corn came IN like WHOA and then went out quick. We spent to-day boiling, cutting, and packaging it for storage. Close on twenty quarts we got out of it. V. productive. :) Later on in the season we shall do tomatoes, which is also fun, and later this week, perhaps, peaches for storage. Raspberries are drawing to a close; tomatoes are in; potatoes are flaggin' a bit; beans may be ending; corn is over; squash are thriving; pumpkins are ending; Asian pears are still thriving; apples are coming in quickly.

Lost 1.6 pounds this week.

We went to the Amish Market to-day, which is the happy lovely store we've been going to for the produce we don't grow since forever. We bought nectarines, white and yellow peaches (since our crop failed), and chrysanthemums; watermelons and walnuts and peanuts and an African violet for Waen. And also homemade cookies and a bag of gummi bears for Waen. Gummi bears are the only thing the Amish don't grow or make themselves. ^__^

Unfortunately, there were some humongous tour busses there and loads of stupid people flicking cigarette ash in the corn and generally being in the way. I resent tourists. I am deeply sorry, but I do.

On plus side, toe is healing incredibly quickly. The other two times it took forever, and was so painful for about a week or so. This time, I'm already wearing it open without a bandage, and it doesn't hurt to poke it or bump it. It looks horrid, however. :)

Done with Dracula! I love Van Helsing. And also Mina. I love Mina. I want to hug her and keep her and snuggle her and love her. *is besotted. much*

Now I shall start on To the Lighthouse!

Ahh my diet is trying to kill me!

No, I'll be serious. It is.

I'm on the WW Core plan this week, as opposed to the Flex plan, which is what I'm usually on (and what I'm going right back to at the end of this week, thanks very much). There are certain benefits about the Core plan, I will confess, like being able to drink milk again, among other things. But it makes me nervous because I don't technically have to track things down. I will anyway, though. And I'm not supposed to measure, which freaks me out a tad.

But the point is, on the Flex plan I can eat anything, so long as its within my points, and on the Core plan, I have no points restrictions, but I can't eat just anything.

I looked through the booklets and sort of planned my breakfast, thinking that there was some lovely brown rice in the fridge, and also some canned chicken.
Actually, the rice was spoiled, and there was half an ounce of the chicken left, which Soujin happily put in the microwave uncovered. It seemed to 'ave escaped her attention that chicken blows up. So a good five minutes were spent this morning cleaning out the microwave and wondering what in hell she could eat, at which point she was demanding to know why the heavens were trying to thwart her, demmit!

Had some leftover salmon instead. Nice salmon. And also a half-cup of milk.

Sort of makes me rethink that idea that I was ready for college, though. I really can't take care of myself at all. :)

I got up this morning at eight-thirty. So early. My eyes hurt.

...well, for me it's early, okay?

Added this picture to Waen's site.

She painted it for me, and I love it so. *sighs dreamily and pokes*

I wore my Mina clothes to-day!

No, there are not clothes Mina would ever be caught dead in, but they're my Mina clothes anyway. It's a long, red velvet skirt, a black silk shirt, a long black satiny jacket with big buttons, my Mina scarf, and usually my hair in a bun, but I wanted to used the red and black scrunchie Mum bought me, so I just had a ponytail. Still, love.

I sent a letter to the maker of that fabulous Lear site, and he sent me back a thank you note and wished me luck with my writing and school. *feels warm and fuzzy. over that. yes*

Also:

Waen: So then Scottie [her art teacher] said "Oh, well, maybe you shouldn't know about that yet. Sorry." And I said, "Dude, how innocent do you think I am? My sister reads the Mary-Sue reports journal to me!"
Soujin: Ehehehehehe. Ohhh dear.

The Quiet Man is v., v. odd. O_o

Am working on all requests taken, and sooner or later they shall all be written. Just may take a bit.

Love everybody!
Soujin.
