-_- Our family situation is mad.

The folks left yesterday; to-night, Melinda (sister no. 2) is coming to visit for three days. If she steals my toothpaste again, I shall never forgive her. It is absolutely unfair.

We had library work to-day, because my flu is apparently not at all serious and no worse than feeling rather ill, so hurrahs. Yes. And I got out the Twenty-Thousand Leagues movie, because of this article, and because the first time I saw it, I hadn't read much of the book yet, so I wasn't able to experience the full measure of pain. *g*

Also got out Lieutenant Hornblower with Gregory Peck, because have got a weird sense of humour.

Finished Mrs. Dalloway. So much love. So, so much. I feel so awful for Peter, though, because things never got really right for him; and I feel bad for Richard, too, though I love him because of his flowers and thinking about the state of the world and wanting to tell Clarissa he loved her and not being able to. Love.

While at library, was shelving; found books by a Brendan Joyce and misread them as having been written by Ben Joyce. Clearly Mysterious Island having dreadful effect.

Also! I've not spoken to Waen of Mysterious Island since she said it was her Orlando, but I think she's coming 'round as a result. She asked me to-day if I'd write her an Ayrton/Bob Harvey fic. ^______^ Yes. I think it may be all right to like it again now, but slowly. Eeee!

So, yes, despite crazy mad family and having tortilla soup for dinner, it is a very nice day.

Melinda here all well. I always forget how funny she is. <3

Also, the movie was as I expected. *adores seal and casts glowery sideways looks at mad Ned Land* It was quite fun, really, because both Mum and Waen were mocking while we watched. They are both exceptionally good at that, as evidenced by the times we watched the '41 and not-a-talking-picture Jekyll&Hydes.

Also! For GSA, they gave us all binders and allowed us to design them ourselves, and so mine is a collage of different writers. I have Bram Stoker; William Butler Yeats; E. L. Doctorow; Oscar Wilde; Virginia Woolf; Jules Verne; Robert Louis Stevenson; and Victor Hugo on the front; and Alfred Noyes; William Shakespeare; T. S. Eliot; Fyodor Dostoevsky; Don Marquis; Mary Shelley; and Charles Dickens on the back. I mean to perhaps get Tennyson for it, too, as I love Tennyson. At any rate, binder makes me unspeakably happy.

And we have Seckle Pears! Yes yes! And that means all is well with the world!

And Mum and I got my Nemo outfit almost ready, too, and solved the issue of the beard. It is a lovely long beard; and a moustache too. Soon we shall get the dye. Bwah. ^__________^
