Oh my God, I was so busy with other things that I forgot to update LJ. >_< Gah.

To-morrow I go to Stoneybridge!

Also, the librarian has promised to see about getting me a copy of "The Cat Who Killed Lilian Jackson Braun", an elaborate parody (or so she says.)

*puts geek glasses on* Pardon me, sir/miss for interrupting, but I can answer your question. Iceland, and the island Greenland as well, are deliberately misleading. When the Vikings were exploring the western oceans, they came upon both of those islands. To keep Iceland, a beautiful island, to themselves, they called it Iceland to give the idea that it was nothing but a frozen wasteland. The opposite is true for Greenland; it is a frozen wasteland, but it was called Greenland to falsely lead eager explorers and settlers there. There's more to it, but that's all I'm sure of.

Greenland and Iceland: the oldest marketing ploy in history!

Ricard Belzer! I love his humor, especially when he was on Homicide.

Yes, the Vikings were very clever in their marketing schemes. I wonder how well travel agents were paid during that era...
