"Couldn't Ask for a Better Day..."

I'm running MARC records at the library, and I just noticed that the summary for the film "Precious" includes the line "Precious Jones, an inner-city high school girl, is illiterate, overweight, and pregnant... again".

Can I just take a moment to be extremely offended that 'overweight' is apparently as much a problem as being illiterate or pregnant due to sexual abuse? Based on the cover, what they actually mean is 'obese', but I would argue that it is still not an issue on the magnitude of the other two.

Ffff people annoy me. Back to work.

EDIT: oh my GOD i HATE romantic comedies. BE more misogynistic, i DARE YOU. OR HOW ABOUT NOT. *fumes*

Why are they all so misogynist? It would be one thing if there were at least some that were, like, embracing and celebrating the differences between the sexes/genders, but they're all "LOLOLOL WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS AND THEY PMS LOLOLOL ALSO THEY LIKE SHOES" and I'm like PUNCHING YOU.

Don't they all? Mom wants to see it. I say if it makes me cry and/or makes my Faith in Humanity shake, I'd rather not. But I probably will anyway.

I know! And BOTH genders are making obvious idiots of themselves the whole time. And I mean, I'm usually fully capable of going in and saying "okay, I know part of the point of this is to be stereotypical and dumb," or just ignoring it, but something about Ye Olde Romantic Comedie just overloads my wtf receptors like whoa. If that makes sense. >

Fff. Well, it's probably good, and I think it has an uplifting ending inasmuch as I think she's able to Overcome Her Problems (with the help of her white social worker or something, hello sketchy race issues that I will ignore), so. It probably won't hurt you. :P

I would love to come and visit for a while! Except I am busssssy and trying also to find a job :( so I don't know when or if it will actually be possible. So we shall see how it goes.

But that would be awesome. I miss you too. Also, if I wanted to mail you a postcard, where would I send it? Shoot me an email, perhaps?
