So the Expo was amazing, I got SO. MUCH. X-MEN. STUFF. for reals. I also got to meet the people who do Girls with Slingshots, Doctor McNinja, Wondermark, Hark! A Vagrant, and more, and also discovered this comic, which may be the most amazing thing in the whole world.

And I got tonnes of leetle drawings from people, because I am cheap and couldn't afford actual sketches, but that's okay, because Kate Beaton drew me a squid and the Beartato man drew me a piggy. And I got all the buttons in the whole world. For srs.

Also a possible job/table-sharing offer, which is probably the coolest thing ever. :D

And my gorgeous freshman with whom I am in love just showed up and gave me an extremely plausible reason for why she stood me up Friday, so now I am not sad any more. Plus I have another freshman kidnappee who supposedly is meeting me for lunch to-day. And isjusterin drew me a picture of Stephane Lambiel as a magical zebra with wings, which I will have to upload for perculious, who has been linking me to all the Stephane fic that is awesome, which means she is awesome too.

So despite the 1.00 a.m. fire alarm last night set specifically so the R.D. could yell at the whole two buildings for vandalism done by the third floor of one, and the fact that I have had about no sleep whatsoever in the past few days, I am feelin' pretty good.

Just making this post has jinxed me, though, so expect a crisis situation by 9.00.

Oh, God, apparently it was sanctioned. >____< However, the backlash has been so bad that he sent both dorms a letter of apology, but the sense I am getting from a lot of people is that they don't consider it good enough. Anyway, I didn't actually care as much as the time because I was already awake, but I do think it was appallingly stupid.

I'm sorry if I'd known all these people were gonna be there I would have said!

I LOVE Kate Beaton and Danielle Corsetto! And Stéphane Lambiel, obviously. WHICH REMINDS ME, I promised to give you the breakdown on Stéphane and I never did. Tell me what you know so I can tell you if there's anything else you should know!

edit: Also, have you found my freshman yet? You will know her by how adorable she is.

There was so much awesome there, it was amazing. --I know almost nothing, frankly, except that he's adorable and enthusiastic about everything and some fic has implied that Johnny got him U.S. Citizenship but that doesn't sound right...?

Nooo, that was just my pairs AU and I only did that so they could compete for the same country. So here are THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT STEPHANE LAMBIEL:

-When Stéphane was 16 he did a program that I cannot watch all the way through because it hurts my stomach from laughing too hard. But then someone told him it was "childish", and he got really offended and never performed it again and forbids everyone from speaking of it. His fans still refrain from talking about it out of respect.

-In, um, I think 2007? he decided to switch coaches and dramatically ran away to New Jersey to be with Johnny Galina Zmievskaya and Viktor Petrenko. So he and Johnny trained together for a while, until Stéphane was injured and had to retire. He kept his eligibility and came out of retirement a couple of years later to go for the 2010 Olympics.

-He is extremely affectionate and emotional. By all accounts he is totally up for hugging fans. There is A LOT of video footage of him hugging and hanging off random skaters, often while they're trying to skate.

-He and Johnny are adorable together! This is where I'm super biased by the fact that I ship them a lot. But okay, just look at them. Those videos are all from Festa on Ice, where apparently they tried to skate pairs but they had a big fight over who would throw who. Or in Johnny's words, "stephane doesn't want to skate with me. we both like to be the 'flower' in the pair. he refuses". Adorable.

-Also they were in a Russian tour called Kings on Ice earlier this year that provided so many wonderful lulz. Like this one press conference where the fans asked Brian Joubert why he looked so tired, and Brian said that they had to travel overnight on a train and it was very difficult. Stéphane cut in and was like, "No, it was great! We had good times!" and Johnny and Brian both stared at him like they want to kill him. This has caused a lot of speculation about the train.

-Here are some videos of Johnny and Stéphane being cute at Kings on Ice: the first 1:30 of this, and only like the first 15 seconds of this but it's a good 15 seconds.

-And here is them being cute very recently at Artistry on Ice, and I swear I'll stop now with my ridiculous shippiness: so, so cute. That last one was posted by Johnny's agent, with the caption "Stephy and Johnny! So cute!" She knows what's up.

-Stéphane really loves music of all kinds. His favorite is Britney Spears, but he's said he has trouble listening to music while driving because he gets so into dancing it endangers his driving.

-Stéphane says that his famous talent for spinning comes from his love of Swiss chocolate, because he eats so much chocolate that his body mass is greater than most skaters and it gives him more centrifugal force. He's also said that if you eat ten bars of Swiss chocolate a day you will become World champion.

-Stéphane also cries a lot. Here are some examples of him crying with happiness: during the Olympic medal ceremony in 2006 (you can skip to like 3:50), after winning Worlds.

-Here is a video where Stéphane explains his inspiration behind the magical zebra program (from like 2:35). It features Shizuka Arakawa clearly thinking he is a little crazy. Lots of people also ship them. Understandably. Stéphane's also been making a foray into choreography recently, and this is his description of the short program he choreographed for Daisuke Takahashi: "It's the story of a magical character who lives in the woods. He is constantly surrounded by nature. He meets, among others creatures, butterflies. But also a monster. He will fight it. The straight line step sequence describes the battle."

-Stéphane said once that he wears lucky underwear to skate, and one of them is orange zebra-print and it's a little see-through.

-Stéphane is insanely private about his personal life. He dated fellow skater Carolina Kostner for two years and they were super adorable but they broke up because of media pressure, so now he doesn't talk about himself, ever. He also hates technology. And he has a room in his house just for his ladybug memorabilia.

Okay, that got a little out of hand. If you actually click all of those links/watch all those videos I will be shocked.

Well this was awesome. Although not long enough. Also, I totally clicked EVERY LINK and watched EVERY VIDEO. ALL the WAY THROUGH. Amazing. I love Stephane more and more and more all the time.

I am still trying to find her--Quintin and Sue will know her, though.
